I use a blend of DBT approaches that provide the best fit for my patients, please feel free to contact me for an informal chat about therapy if you think you may need some support.
I specialise in DBT treating patients suffering from personality disorders, bipolar disorder and depression-anxiety.
I facilitate a 12 week evidenced based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Program at the Priory Hospital North London. DBT will provide you with tools to stabilise your mood, relieve your symptoms and develop resources to manage your mood more effectively.
DBT treatment for bipolar disorder aims to reduce the severity and number of episodes of depression and mania to allow as normal a life as possible.
DBT treatment for personality disorder will provide patients with an evidence based skills that when deployed will reduce problem behaviours, suicidality and help teach patients the skills they need to live stable and symptom free lives.
What is DBT?
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is a type of talking treatment. It’s based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), but has been adapted to help people who experience emotions very intensely.
It’s mainly used to treat problems associated with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and biploar disorder but it has also been used more recently to treat a number of other different types of mental health problems.
DBT also helps you to change unhelpful behaviours, but it differs from CBT in that it also focuses on accepting who you are at the same time. DBT places particular importance on the relationship between you and your therapist, and this relationship is used to actively motivate you to change.
A randomized, controlled, pilot study of dialectical behavior therapy skills in a psychoeducational group for individuals with bipolar disorder:
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Support Groups and Individual Sessions
Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT) is the treatment most closely associated with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The DBT Support Group practices DBT in North London with group therapy sessions. The DBT therapy combines elements of CBT to help with regulating emotion through distress tolerance & mindfulness. The goal of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy is to alleviate the emotional pain associated with BPD. Its core assumption is that change and acceptance are intertwined. We often think of our efforts to change things as emerging out of non-acceptance. If you’re looking for DBT therapy in London or for a London DBT support group myself and my colleagues provide dialectical behaviour therapy, DBT group therapy, DBT therapy, dialectic behavioural therapy, and dialectical therapy. They provide dialectical counselling, DBT counselling in London and DBT treatment. They include DBT groups, DBT therapists, DBT psychologists and DBT counselling.
I treat patients adjacent to the North London Priory Hospital, the nearest tube is Southgate on the Piccadilly Line a 5 min walk from the station. I can also see clients in Central London.
